Umahi’s defection: Ogbonnaya Onu headed for humiliation – Shehu Sani

Shehu Sani

Socio-political commentator, Senator Shehu Sani says Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, may not find the defection of Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi funny.

Recall that the Ebonyi governor dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday and joined APC immediately after.

He cited PDP’s injustice meted out to the South-East zone for his exit.

He accused the PDP of having no plan to allow the South-East take its 2023 presidential ticket despite the zone’s loyalty to the party over the years.

Umahi has been accused of joining APC because of a desperation to be president in 2023.

However, Sani said that only God would save the minister from being humiliated by the turn of events.

Ogbonnaya Onu is an indigene of Ebonyi, like Umahi, and one of the five national leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), according to Prince Tony Momoh.

He is also a leader of the APC in the South-East geopolitical zone.

Sani, who was Senator for Kaduna Central in the 8th Senate, stated that the defection bodes evil for the minister.

“With the defection of Umahi, only God will save the Minister of Science and Technology Ogbonnaya Onu from humiliation,” he said.
