National Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has emerged as the 2023 presidential flagbearer of the ruling party.
Tinubu won the ticket at the party’s special convention held at the Eagles Square, Abuja on Tuesday and Wednesday.
While the former Lagos governor secured over 1,000 votes, his closest challenger, Rotimi Amaechi polled 316 votes and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo scored 235 votes.

Senate President Ahmad Lawan, who failed to emerge as the consensus candidate despite APC National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu’s spirited efforts, was fourth with 152 votes.
Other contestants were: Yahaya Bello – 47 votes; David Umahi – 38 votes; Ben Ayade – 37 votes; Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba – one vote; Rochas Okorocha – zero vote; Tein Jack-Rich – zero vote; and Tunde Bakare – zero vote.
With his victory today, Tinubu will be facing PDP’s Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party’s Peter Obi and others in the 2023 presidential election.
