A North Texas man has been sentenced to 60 years in prison for abducting and beating a prostitute in an attack in which he carved his nickname on her legs.
A Collin County jury on Friday sentenced 28-year-old Joseph Julian Guerra over the July 2012 attack in Allen. Jurors earlier convicted Guerra of aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault.
Investigators say the woman worked for Guerra and he abducted and attacked her in a money dispute. Prosecutors say the woman was restrained with duct tape and Guerra used a knife to carve his nickname, Ace, on her legs. The victim escaped from Guerra’s home when he fell asleep.
Records show Guerra has a criminal history including alcohol and drug violations. He was on probation at the time of the attack.
