The Convener of Concerned Nigerians, Deji Adeyanju, has said that Christian clerics openly endorsing political candidates ahead of the forthcoming general election are setting a bad precedent.
Adeyanju said this in a tweet on Monday after Founder and Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr Paul Enenche endorsed Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
Taking to Twitter, Enenche shared a photo of himself with Obi and Bishop David Oyedepo of Winners Chapel.

He captioned the photo, “This picture is speaking volumes right now, especially in this season. What do you see? What can you hear? Are you in doubt of the way to go? The way of integrity, authenticity, honesty, sincerity, simplicity, humility, capacity, productivity; here is the way to go. #Elections2023”
Reacting to the post, Adeyanju said that pastors should not use religion for politics.
He tweeted, “It is wrong for pastors to use religion for politics just the same way it is wrong for imams to do same.
“Will always love you Papa Enenche but what you and some pastors are doing is wrong and you are setting a very bad precedent for the nation with religion.”
