The General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries (OFM), Apostle Johnson Suleman, has backed President Olusegun Obasanjo’s open letter to President Muhammadu Buhari, saying that the ex-president spoke the mind of Nigerians.
Speaking in Makurdi when he paid a courtesy visit on Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, the fiery preacher said that the issues raised in Obasanjo’s letter deserved urgent attention.
According to him, failure to address the widespread insecurity in Nigeria could lead to disaster.
Suleman said that Nigeria was at a tipping point as stated by Obasanjo and concerted efforts must be made to tackle the situation.
Furthermore, the Christian leader berated those criticising and calling for Obasanjo’s arrest.
He said that Coalition of Northern Groups, which gave the Federal Government a 30-day ultimatum to reserve the suspension of the Ruga settlement policy, should instead be arrested.

“In Obasanjo’s letter, I did not see what he wrote there that has not been happening. People must draw a line between politics and reality. He spoke the mind of Nigerians and should not be castigated.
“I learnt some people are calling for his arrest, but before anybody arrests Obasanjo they should first arrest those who threatened the government by issuing a 30 days ultimatum to the government over the suspension of the Ruga settlement plan,” Suleman said.
He commended Ortom for defending his people at the height of the herdsmen crisis in the state.
Suleman, “Many leaders would prefer to defend their seats and positions at the expense of their people in such situations, the path Governor Ortom took was capable of costing him his second term election but he never bothered.”
