Oba Of Lagos Pardons Hoodlums Who Carted Away With Staff Of Office

2 Min Read

The Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu has forgiven those who looted his palace and carted away with items including his Staff of Office.

Recall that during the End SARS protests, a few group of people broke into his palace in Iga Idunganran, Lagos state and carted away items including his Staff of Office.

However, the staff was later returned. According to a statement, the traditional ruler insisted that nobody could dethrone him, adding that his ascension to the stool was the wish of God for his life.

Akiolu made this known during the inauguration of the Lagos City Centre established by the Lagos Island East Local Government Area.

Speaking on the LC Centre, the Oba also commended the council for the initiative and urged the authorities to invest more more in youth empowerment.

Meanwhile, The Northern Elders Forum (NEF) has demanded President Muhammadu Buhari’s resignation over the rising spate of insecurity and economic hardship in the country.

NEF spokesman, Dr Hakeem Baba-Ahmed made the call Wednesday during an appearance onChannels Television‘s Politics Today.

He said the president had nothing new to offer to Nigerians, adding that he failed in his first few years to deliver on the campaign promises he made in 2015.

Baba-Ahmed recalled that Buhari asked his predecessor, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan to resign in 2013 over insecurity, saying the latest call for President Buhari’s resignation over the same issue was therefore not out of order.
