NSE maintains upbeat trend, Index up by 0.26%

The All-Share Index of the Nigeria Stock Exchange (NSE) on Friday appreciated by 0.26 per cent.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the index grew by 68.83 points or 0.26 per cent to close at 26,235.63 from 26,166.80 achieved on Thursday.

Similarly, the market capitalisation, which opened at N9.045 trillion, rose by N24 billion or 0.27 per cent to close at N9.069 trillion.

7UP led the price gainers’ table by N4.44 to close at N94.69 per share.

 

 

Dangote Cement followed with a gain of 50k to close at N159.50, while Glaxosmithkline gained 46k to close at N14.55 per share.

Air Service rose by 45k to close at N4.97, while Oando garnered 34k to close at N7.17 per share.

On the other hand, Nigerian Breweries topped the price losers’ chart, shedding 70k to close at N127.30 per share.

Stanbic IBTC lost 31k to close at N 24.50, while Presco shed 25k to close at N47 per share.

 

 

Champion Breweries dipped by 21k to close at N2.14, while Medview Airline declined by 7k to close at N1.43 per share.

Oando was the toast of investors, accounting for 79.59 million shares worth N526.45 million.

Zenith Bank exchanged 58.54 million shares valued at N943.07 million, while Medview traded 51.97 million shares worth N77.76 million.

FBN Holdings exchanged 44.04 million shares valued at N159. 32 million, while Wapic sold 22.86 million shares worth N12.43 million.

In all, investors staked N2.96 billion on 442.83 million shares in 4,220 deals against the 255.65 million shares valued at N2.45 billion transacted in 5,106 deals on Thursday. (NAN)
