After a decline for three consecutive days, lead indicators of Nigerian Stock Exchange rose Thursday by 0.02 per cent bringing the All Share Index points 4.62 points higher to close at 26,953.05 points, while market capitalization added N1.6 billion to close at N9.27 trillion.
Market breadth likewise closed positive with 29 gainers against 12 losers. Leading the gainers table was Unity Bank Plc with an increase of 9.38 per cent or 0.06 kobo to close at 70 kobo per share followed by Continental Re-insurance Plc., which added 6.80 per cent or 7 kobo to close at N1.10 per share, while Cement Company of Northern Nigeria Plc., gained 5.00 per cent or 37 kobo to close at N7.77 per share.
Forte Oil Plc appreciated 5.00 per cent or N12.10 to close at N254.10 per share, while Total Plc., increased by 4.97 per cent or N7.20 to close at N152.20 per share.
On the other hand, Skye Bank Plc led the losers with a decline of 6.06 per cent or 8 kobo to close at N1.24 per share, trailed by UACN Plc., which depreciated by 4.98 per cent or N1.07 to close at N20.43 per share, while Mobil Plc., dropped 4.96 per cent or N6.57 to close at N125.84 per share.
Union Bank Nigeria Plc., also lost 4.84 per cent or 29 kobo to close at N5.70 per share, while A.G. Leventis Plc., fell 4.41 per cent or 3 kobo to close at 65 kobo per share.
At the end of the day’s transactions, investors on the Nigeria Stock Exchange had in 2,480 deals traded a total of 172.7 million shares worth N2.62 billion compared to a total of 196.5 million shares worth N2.1 billion traded in 2,781 deals on Wednesday.
