The Delta State Police Command has arrested Bella Lucky, an alleged notorious female robber, and two other suspected members of her criminal gang at McClivers market area in Warri, Delta State.
State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Hafiz Inuwa, confirmed the development.
“Three of them were arrested. One of them is a very young girl,” he said.
“These are armed robbers who were using a woman. It’s not a question of a notorious armed robber. It’s a gang using knife, stabbing people and robbing them.”
According to him, the gang’s members used the lady, Bella Lucky, to deceive passengers, engage them in a discussion, get them carried away, and rob them.
Inuwa confirmed that the suspects were in custody and would be charged to court upon completion of investigations.
It was learnt that officers and men of the “Safe Delta” Unit of the Nigeria Police Force, led by CSP Anieteh Eyoh arrested the suspects on Monday.
Bella Lucky reportedly lured victims to the gang’s hideout in the Warri area of the state using a tricycle. Once there, the other gang members would then swoop on the victim and dispossess them of their possessions.
