An ex-member of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Danlami Hamza, has died from COVID-19 complications, The Herald can confirm.
The politician from Fagge in Kano, was confirmed dead on Sunday.
Hamza was admitted into a COVID-19 isolation centre at Kwanar Dawaki in Kano, on Saturday.
Sources close to the former lawmaker confirm that he died at the age of 70.

The funeral prayer, according to the source, revealed that the funeral prayer was conducted at Fagge, in the Kano metropolis, by 6pm.
The corpse remained inside the ambulance that brought the corpse, due to safety precautions.
With the assistance of health officials, who had their personal protective equipment on, the corpse was buried at Abattoir Cemetery in Fagge.
Hamza was an ex lawmaker who represented Fagge Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives between 1999 and 2011.
He did so on the platform of the extinct All Peoples Party.
