The Aare Ona Kakanfo, Iba Gani Adams, has said that the Northern oligarchy is afraid of Amotekun because it will halt the region’s “conquest agenda” in the South-West geopolitical zone.
He stated this on Sunday while replying elder statesman, Balarabe Musa’s comment on the newly-launched security outfit.
Musa, who was Governor of Kaduna State in the Second Republic, said that Amotekun was launched to pursue separatist agenda.
But the Yoruba generalissimo faulted the claim that the security outfit was a precursor to the formation of Oduduwa Republic.
Gani Adams said, “Let me say this clearly, the emergence of Amotekun is the beginning of wisdom, and the fear of the Northern oligarchy is that the existence of Amotekun may jeopardise their conquest agenda.
“They are not for good governance, but interested in their plan towards conquest agenda.”
He disclosed that Amotekun has begun to yield fruit since its launch penultimate Thursday.
“As we can see and observe, since the launch of Amotekun few weeks ago, criminal activities is gradually going into oblivion, examples include kidnapping, invasion of farmland and other social vices.
“The existence of Amotekun is now the beginning of wisdom,” Gani Adams stated.
The Yoruba generalissimo urged all state Houses of Assembly in the South West to within two weeks pass laws backing Amotekun like what had happened in the North with the Hisbah Commission and Civilian JTF.
