Veteran actress Taiwo Ajai-Lycett has boldly asserted that a “true actor” should be open to embracing all facets of their craft, including sharing on-screen kisses. The acclaimed actress emphasized the importance of separating personal preferences from the demands of various movie roles.
According to Ajai-Lycett, any thespian who hesitates or refuses to engage in on-screen kisses cannot be considered a “true actor.” She urged fellow actors to set aside personal reservations and fully commit to the roles they undertake, emphasizing that bringing personal beliefs into acting demonstrates a lack of dedication to the profession.
In a statement quoted by KFN (Kreative Forum Nigeria), the veteran actress underscored the need for actors to immerse themselves entirely in their characters, even if it involves intimate scenes. She argued that such commitment is integral to the authenticity of the performance and the overall success of the film.
Ajai-Lycett’s perspective challenges the notion of actors imposing personal boundaries on their roles and raises questions about the extent to which an actor should go to portray a character convincingly.
