Renowned Nollywood actor and director, Charles Inojie, has shared a poignant chapter of his life, detailing the challenges he faced growing up, including being abandoned as a baby by his mother. In a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Inojie revealed the heart-wrenching circumstances that shaped his early years.
Born into an environment marked by familial discord, Inojie disclosed that he spent only eight months living with his father, who eventually chose his mistress over him. The actor recounted the painful eviction from his father’s home, a decision prompted by the mistress issuing an ultimatum.
Speaking candidly about the estrangement, Inojie shared, “The day I was to meet my mother for the first time, I’ve seen a lot so nothing moved me anymore. I’ve been on the street for too long.” He described the emotional meeting with his mother, highlighting his resilience in the face of a tumultuous upbringing.
Reflecting on the family dynamics, Inojie disclosed, “The marriage between my father and mother ended when I was still a baby. It was my grandmother who breastfed me.” He revealed that he later met his mother, who passed away at the age of 58, leaving behind 16 children.
Returning to his father after completing his university education, Inojie encountered a profound moment. He shared also that when he went back to he father after graduating from the university, his dad shed tears for more than 30 minutes because he was too ashamed for abandoning him.
