The website, www.nokia.com.ng, has been officially launched by Nokia for its customers in Nigeria in line with the companys’ objectives on internet services.
It is now obvious that the company recognises Nigerians as major players in the world market and have moved to provide a responsive website to improve the Nokia experience.
It is an HTML5 website based on a responsive web design which delivers optimal user-experience to any device be it laptops, desktops, smartphones, mobile phones and tablets,
The responsive nature of the website makes access, reading and navigation flawless and easy irrespective of the screen size of the gadget used to access the site.
According to Service Design Manager for Nokia.com Tim McDonald, “This approach has enabled us to deliver a Nokia Nigeria website that works seamlessly on all screen sizes, everything from feature phones to desktop computers. The design is all about simplicity, desirability and authenticity. It is a website that Nokia is quite rightly proud of.
“The Internet has changed our lives forever, and the technology driving it is constantly evolving. At its heart, the Internet uses HTML coding to display web pages, and an increasing number of companies are starting to take advantage of the latest iteration – HTML5.”
He also said that with a number of exciting HTML5-based projects already under its belt, Nokia is leading the way with the use of HTML5 at Nokia.com and also for its online maps.
General Manager, Nokia West Africa, Mr. Chris Brown, noted that the responsive design approach enables Nokia deliver the best possible user experience to the widest possible audience irrespective of screen size.
“It fundamentally changes the traditional design process and encourages inarguable best practices around scalability, usability and accessibility.
“With the new responsive Nokia.com for Nigeria, customers and aspiring customers will be able to learn more about their Nokia Asha or Nokia Lumia devices on demand and from any device,” he said.
