Following reports that the All Progressives Congress (APC) was dissatisfied with the judgement of the Supreme Court affirming the electoral victory of some governors of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last general election, the National Chairman of APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, has said the apex court’s decisions were unquestionable.
Recall that Odigie-Oyegun was quoted as expressing dissatisfaction with the judgement of the court affirming the victory of Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, reports he has since denied.
This reportedly happened when the APC candidate in the state, Dakuku Peterside, led some party faithful to the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja, few days after the Supreme Court judgement affirming Wike’s victory.
However, while speaking to journalists in Cross River state where he was to receive some defectors from the PDP and Labour party to the APC, Odigie-Oyegun said the party was not worried by the apex court’s decision.
He also debunked reports that the party was dissatisfied with the decisions, stating that it only wanted to know what informed them.
The party chairman added that the outcry over the court’s decisions were from individual party members and do not represent the party’s position.
The Supreme Court recently affirmed the electoral victories of PDP’s Wike; Akwa Ibom Governor, Udom Emmanuel and Taraba Governor, Darius Ishaku.
But Odigie-Oyegun said his party was not moved by the decisions.
He said: “The APC is not finding it difficult to accept the verdict of the Supreme Court, all we are after is to know why the ruling in the first place. No one can question the decision of the Apex Court.”
