After his team lost to Croatian side, Dynamo Zagreb in the UEFA Champions League, Arsene Wenger has said Arsenal have no “cheap excuses” to lose to Chelsea on Saturday.
Arsenal meet the league champions this Saturday in the week six game of the 2015/2016 English Premier League season.
While it has not been rosy so far for Chelsea in the league this season, with just four points out of a possible 15 and 17th place on the table, Arsenal have fared better, garnering 10 points and placing 4th on the log.
The last time both teams met, in the Community Shield, Arsenal secured a slim-margin win.
Wenger said of his team’s placement on the league table, “We are on a good run in the Premier League and it is important now to look at that.”
About the defeat to Dynamo, he stated, “Every defeat hurts but every defeat is also an opportunity to respond in a very strong way.”
The longest manager currently serving in the premier league, Wenger, said of his opponents: “I do not consider too much where Chelsea stands at the moment and I’m focused more on us performing well with full power.”
