The aged parents of co-pilot, Lieutenant Adeyemi Sowole, who died on Saturday in the ill-fated helicopter crash have declined commenting on the claim by the Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral Ola Sa’ad Ibrahim, that the Defence Headquarters had assisted the family.
However, they said that only Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State reached out to them via a representative.
The family said no burial arrangements had been made for now, as they were still meeting privately on the issue.
They also said they would not raise the issue of partiality against the Federal Government again, whom they had previously accused of behaving as though only former Governor Patrick Yakowa and former National Security Adviser, General Andrew Azazi, died in the crash.
The elder sister of the deceased, Funke Kalejaiye, said that the burial plans would be made public when they have been made, as his body had just left Bayelsa State.
She also thanked the press, adding that the rest will be done in privacy.
As at the time of this report, mourners still thronged the family house to offer words of comfort to the family, especially the mother to find the inner strength to move on.
