FC Barcelona have no representatives in UEFA’s Best XI for the Champions League group stage.
It’s a surprise that there are no Barça players in the side, above all because the Catalan side were one of the top seeds in this week’s draw in Nyon. Next up for Luis Enrique’s side in the Champions League will be Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal.
However, it should be pointed out that Lionel Messi missed several games through injury. Although it is true he scored three goals in the last two games against Roma and Bayer Leverkusen.
As for Luis Suarez and Neymar, neither made the UEFA team despite having scored seven goals between them.
Instead UEFA considered Thomas Muller, Hulk and Cristiano Ronaldo as the three players worthy of a place in the fron three.
