NNPC solicits IPMAN’s support for effective distribution of petroleum products

2 Min Read

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has solicited the support of Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) to ensure efficient distribution of petroleum products nationwide.

This is contained in a statement signed by Alhaji Garba Deen Muhammad, NNPC Group General Manager, Public Affairs Division, on Thursday in Abuja.

It said the Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Dr. Maikanti Baru, made this demand when the National Executive Committee of IPMAN visited his office.

He urged the association to ensure effective distribution of products during and after the Ember period.

Baru urged IPMAN to use its vast network of distribution outlets in the downstream sector across the country to deliver petroleum products to the people without diversion of products.

He called on the leadership of IPMAN to enforce the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency’s (PPPRA) retail price band for all petroleum products across all its retail outlets.

He further enjoined the association to take advantage of the liberalisation policy in the downstream sector to import petroleum products to keep the country wet with petroleum products.

Earlier, Chief Obasi Lawson, leader of the delegation, said peace had returned to the leadership of the association and was prepared to use its various filling stations to ensure effective supply and distribution of petroleum products for the benefit of Nigerians.

Also, the IPMAN Board of Trustee Chairman, Alh. Aminu Abdulkadir, congratulated the group managing director on his well-deserved appointment.

He said that his appointment had brought unity to the lingering crises in the association.

Lawson assured that IPMAN would support the managing director and his management team to succeed in their task of ensuring seamless supply and distribution of petroleum products nationwide. (NAN)
