The home of the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has again allegedly been invaded by a combined team of soldiers and police on a mission it termed “search for technical items”.
Emmanuel Kanu, younger brother to the IPOB leader, confirmed the raid which was carried out at their Afaraukwu residence in Abia state less than a month after the first invasion.
Recall that Nnamdi Kanu and his parents have allegedly been missing since the last operation of the Nigerian Army who took seizure of their home, after a clash between the IPOB members and the Nigerian Army.
According to reports, Emmanuel had claimed that household items belonging to the Royal family of Afaraukwu Ibekwu, were carted away by the “invaders”.
He called on the international community to interfere and prevail on the Nigerian Security forces to stop further expropriation in their home and account for the whereabouts of his family members whom he claimed went missing after the first invasion.
Speaking on the incident, the Desk Officer of Operation Python Dance, in Charge of the Operation Python Dance in Abia state, whose identity is undisclosed, confirmed the raid and maintained it was a joint operation by the security agencies.
He stated that the operation was done based on intelligent reports at the disposal of the security agencies, revealing that arms were hidden in the home of the IPOB leader.
However, the Desk Officer denied that household items were removed stating that the items recovered from the IPOB leader’s home may be “technical items”, as “somebody was arrested with weapons in the compound”.
