The Nigerian Police has declared the recently commissioned IPOB’s Biafra Secret Service, BSS, illegal.
The declaration comes days after the embattled leader of pro-Biafra group, the Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, commissioned the security outfit days ago.
Speaking on the illegal security outfit, the Commissioner of Police in Abia State, CP Adeleye Oyebade stated that the IPOB’s secret service operatives are illegal and will be treated as such.
He further warned those behind the constitution and formation of the security outfit to desist from the “unlawful and illegal” network.
The Abia State Police Commissioner further stated that the Nigerian Constitution does not recognize the outfit adding that the only recognized frameworks are the Nigerian Police, Nigerians Army and the Department of States service.
Oyebade further stated that any group asides the constitutionally recognized security framework which claims to be providing security to citizens without an approval from constitution was illegal.
He further threatened that the full wrath of the law will be exercised on the organisers and participants of the said Biafra Secret Service, BSS.
