A former Lagos State commissiner of Police, Alhaji Abubakar Tsav has said that the leader of the group Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, is suffering from mental illness.
Tsav was reacting to remarks attributed to the IPOB leader recently where he reportedly stated, the Federal Government offered him the 5 south eastern states to secede and form Biafra with.
Kanu said he rejected the Federal Government’s offer because Rivers State and Benue state were not included in the deal.
In response, Tsav said, “I think the man, Kanu, has some mental problems. What is the connection between the Tivs, the Idoma and the Igbo? I think the man needs to see a psychiatric doctor because something is wrong with him. He is not well because nothing connects the Tivs, the Idoma to the Igbo. How can he say he wants Benue State to be part of Biafra?
“He should stay where he is and carry on with his madness. We are not ready to be part and parcel of his madness”.
In a related development, Kanu recently received a hero’s welcome as he visited the Rivers State metropolis. Thousands of people trooped out to catch a glimpse of the former prisoner who is calling for a referendum for Biafra.
