The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, on Monday, spoke on behalf of the families of some of the inmates held in Kuje prison without trial.
In a online video, IPOB leader called the attention of the general public to the plight of the inmates who have been detained without trial for months, before boarding the vehicle that conveyed him to the Federal High Court for trial.
He also added that it was a crime against the human rights of the detained individuals to have them locked away without a standard trial to prove them guilty of the accusations leveled against them.
It is noteworthy to recall that Nnamdi Kanu was arrested by Nigeria secret police, the Department of State Services (DSS) in October, 2015. He was later arraigned in court for treason.
