2 Min Read

Controversial blogger and journalist, Kemi Olunloyo has said that the leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) movement, Nnamdi Kanu is alive and well after insinuating that he had died.

Kemi Olunloyo stirred up controversy on social media when she tweeted that Nnamdi Kanu may have gone to Italy where he contracted coronavirus and died.

She went on to suggest that he was cremated and was being impersonated by a Sudanese. She however promised to confirm the information and give an update much later.

The controversial blogger has been in the news after she tweeted that a high ranking member of President Buhari’s Government had died. A week later, the presidency announced the death of it’s chief of staff, Abba Kyari.

Her recent tweet had generated a lot of reaction from IPOB members who blasted the journalist for insinuating that their leader was dead.

Kemi Olunloyo debunked her own rumour in a later tweet saying he was alive and well.

#BREAKING After investigating all night, I am letting everyone know that Nnamdi Kanu is ALIVE and well. He was NEVER in Italy let alone hospitalized. I also spoke to close friends of Kanu including my brother @realFFK who confirmed the same and has spoken to Mazi Kanu.

Nnamdi Kanu himself announced through Twitter that he would be making a radio broadcast on Wednesday night.
