The National Judicial Council has sacked controversial judge, Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court.
The move comes a day after Justice Ademola, who is due for statutory retirement in March 2018, tendered his resignation on Wednesday, December 6.
According to the Punch, the NJC said Justices Adeniyi Ademola and Segun Tokode, also of the Federal High Court have been recommended for compulsory retirement over acts of misconduct by the body.
It could not be ascertained why Justice Ademola tendered his resignation few months to statutory retirement but observers says it might be a ploy to escape an inglorious exit from the bench.
Justice Ademola, his wife Olabowale, and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Joe Agi were cleared of an 18-count charge of corruption in April 2017 after a High Court of the FCT ruled that the Federal Government failed to prove the charges against them.
