The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted isolated thunderstorms over the Central States of Abuja, Minna, Bida, Lafia, Yola, Mambila Plateau, Makurdi, Lokoja and Jos on Monday afternoon and evening.
The forecast are contained in the Weather Outlook issued by NiMet’s Central Forecast Office (CFO) on Sunday in Abuja.
It also predicted that the central region would have maximum daytime temperatures of 30 to 32 degrees Celsius.
The Agency predicted that the southern states would experience cloudy conditions with chances of localized rains over Lagos, Benin, Port Harcourt, Eket and Calabar during the morning hours.
It also predicted prospects of isolated thunderstorms over the entire region during the afternoon and evening hours with maximum daytime temperatures of 32 to 33 degrees Celsius.
NiMet also predicted that northern states would experience cloudy conditions with chances of isolated thunderstorm activities over Kano, Sokoto, Gusau and Katsina during the afternoon and evening period.
It added that the region would have maximum daytime temperatures of 36 to 38 degrees Celsius.
According to the prediction, wide spread rainfall activities are likely in the afternoon across most parts of the country while the coastal cities of South-East are expected to experience continuous rainfall.
