The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted localised thunderstorms over Abuja, Kaduna, Minna and Jalingo axis on Thursday morning.
The predictions are contained in the Weather Outlook issued by NiMet’s Central Forecast Office (CFO) in Abuja on Thursday.
The agency predicted thunderstorms over the high grounds of the central cities including Abuja, Zaria, Jos, Bida ,Markudi and Lafia in the afternoon and evening with day time temperatures of 27 to 31 degree Celsius.
NiMet predicted that the Northern states would experience cloudy to partly cloudy condition over most parts of the region with chances of localised thunderstorms over Jigawa ,Dutse and Bauchi in the morning.
The agency predicted that there would be prospects of isolated thunderstorms over Sokoto, Gusau, Kano and Yelwa later in the day with day time temperatures of 31 to 34 degrees Celsius.
According to the prediction, there will be increased cloudiness and rainfall activities over the country with chances of localised thunderstorms and rains in central and southern cities in the next 24 hours.
The agency also predicted that the Southern States would experience rains and showers over the region in the morning.
It said that there will be prospects of rains over the inland and coastal cities of Lagos, Delta, Calabar and Port-Harcourt including Oshogbo, Akure, Ibadan, Enugu and Awka in the afternoon and evening with day time temperatures of 27-29 degree Celsius.
