The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudy morning with prospects of isolated thunderstorms over the Central States of Yelwa, Abuja, Kaduna, Lokoja and Minna axis on Saturday.
The predictions are contained in the Weather Outlook issued by NiMet’s Central Forecast Office (CFO) on Friday in Abuja.
It also predicted partly cloudy conditions in the afternoon and evening period with chances of localised thunderstorms over Jos Plateau, Lafia, Jalingo and Mambilla Plateau with maximum temperatures of 28 to 33 degrees Celsius.
The Agency predicted that the southern states would experience increased cloudiness in the morning with chances of localised rains over the coastal cities of Benin, Port Harcourt, Eket, Calabar and Lagos.
It also predicted that there would be chances of localised rains over the inland cities of Akure and Oshogbo during the forecast period with maximum daytime temperatures of 31 to 32 degrees Celsius.
NiMet also predicted that northern states would experience cloudy to partly cloudy situation over some places during the forecast period.
It added that there would be chances of isolated thunderstorms over Sokoto and Birnin kebbi during the morning hours maximum daytime temperatures of 35 to 39 degrees Celsius.
According to the prediction, sufficient influx of moisture is expected to result in increased cloudiness and induce rainfall activities in some selected cities around the country. (NAN)
