NiMet predicts cloudy, rainy weather for Friday

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted localized thunderstorms over the central states of Abuja, Lafia, Nasarawa and environs on Friday morning.

The predictions are contained in the Weather Outlook issued by NiMet’s Central Forecast Office (CFO) on Thursday in Abuja.

It also predicted chances of isolated thunderstorms over the high grounds of Abuja, Minna, Bida, Lokoja and Kaduna in the afternoon and evening hours with maximum temperatures of 23 to 35 degrees Celsius.

The Agency predicted that the Southern states would experience rain showers over the coast and inland cities in the morning hours and localised thunderstorms later in the day.

It also predicted It added that Lagos, Port-Harcourt, Calabar, Eket, Enugu , Oshogbo, Ibadan and Akure would also experience thunderstorms with maximum temperatures of 27 to 31 degrees Celsius.

NiMet predicted that Northern states would experience cloudiness with chances of localised thunderstorms over Sokoto axis in the morning with maximum day time temperatures of 28 to 33 degrees Celsius

According to the prediction, the entire Country is under the influence of moist south westerly wind, this implies prospect of weather activities up to the northern axis in the next 24 hours. (NAN)
