Nigeria’s Richest Woman, Folorunsho Alakija Describes God With 2,000 Names

2 Min Read

Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija, Nigeria’s richest and Africa’s second richest woman has released a list of 2,000 endearments for none other than God.

The businesswoman who recently celebrated her 65th birthday disclosed that she set out to receive an award in Ghana last December at the Action Chapel International but by the time she left the venue, the only thing she wanted to do was to birth the idea in her belly.

As part of the award presented to her, a tapestry with several names of God which she found wonderful was present and she had immediately wrapped herself in it.

Referencing it as the source of her inspiration to write the 110-paged book titled “HIS NAME IS”, Mrs Folorunsho Alakija in the introductory part of the work wrote: “I excitedly wrapped it around myself in the presence of at least 10,000 people. The names of God inscribed on it had made my heart miss a beat that led to faster beats! The die was cast and I knew what to do next.”

The book contains a wide variety of names for God in diverse languages with matching translations and biblical references. Some of the names include: (Adaratan – The one who is Completely Good – and Eri Ailopin – Endless Testimony); , Ibibio (Abasi Afid Abuk – God of All Flesh – and Abasi Mbom Mmi – God of my Mercy); Igbo (Oje Na Mmuo – He that Works in the Spirit – and Oputa Obie – The Beginning and the End); and Hausa (Tushen Rai – Author of Life as well as Uba Madu Kaki – Father of Glory.
