Former England captain, John Terry says Nigerian players are at par with Brazilian players in terms of football skill.
He asserted that Nigerian players are better than their English counterparts in that area.
Terry spoke while fielding questions from journalists.
The former Chelsea captain is currently in Nigeria alongside former Brazil and Real Madrid legend, Roberto Carlos for the Budweiser Game of Kings.
The 40-year-old identified Nigerian football legends Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha and Kanu Nwankwo as two of the most skillful players he faced in his career.
“One of the first Nigerians I played against was Kanu, he had this way he used to drag the ball. As a defender, you always knew what he would do, but he was always very difficult to mark, you wouldn’t know who to stop him. Just like Brazilians, Nigerian players are very skillful, unlike English players.
“Kanu and Okocha were some of the most skillful players in the English Premier League, they played with flair and were difficult to stop,” The Punch quoted Terry as saying.
