Nigerians have condemned Pauline Tallen, the Minister of Women Affairs after she allegedly knelt to beg Femi Gbajabiamila, the Honourable Speaker at an event held at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja over the weekend.
Pauline Tallen and Femi Gbajabiamila were Guest Speakers at the Women in Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ) Dialogue which held on Saturday, October 12th, 2019.
According to a Media Personality Kadaria Ahmed who was the Moderator at the WIMBIZ event, Pauline Tallen went down on her knees to beg Femi Gbajabiamila in order to solicit more female representation in political appointments.
“Yup. She knelt down at a public event to beg the Honorable Speaker on behalf of Nigerian women to increase the representation of women. As if it’s a favour instead of the smart thing to do. We drool over Rwanda, Ethiopia, where human productivity is appreciated but won’t emulate”
Nigerians have taken to Twitter to slam Minister Pauline without reserve

This is so weird. Pauline Tallen’s political pedigree at state& federal level is far superior to the speaker’s. Hard to wrap one’s head around what that act was meant to convey other than the continued subservience of women in a forum on their empowerment of all places.
Phew! This is a no from me and the Nigerian women. We don’t beg for rights, we fight for our rights

If culture and tradition is anything to go by, the ‘kneeling’ should be the other way round: Speaker Gbaja, as Tallen’s son in-law, should be the one on his knees, pledging to assist her and women; his wife hails from Plateau state.

Senseless behaviour! She’s older than him! Senseless woman! For what? My skin is crawling with disgust. Mr assurance? What does she want? Was she drunk? Or under the influence of corruption? Nonsense!

Stoopet! Was she able to stand afterwards? She’s over 50 like me so kneels must be a bit creaky. What a silly woman
