Many Nigerians are in disagreement with a statement attributed to the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God worldwide.
The cleric who said “If you marry wife through Facebook, you will lose her on YouTube” struck a raw nerve with Nigeria’s young population, many of whom use the social media in all aspects of their lives.
Some comments moderated on Nairaland, Nigeria’s largest indigenous social community that also doubles as an online forum showcased the controversy generated over the cleric’s comments.
Comments from the users of the online forum were mainly in opposition to the quotes by the RCCG Overseer, with a few trying to rationalise the said statement.
