Nigerians have taken to social media to reveal their expectations for the much-anticipated Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention (#PDPConventionPHC) where the party’s presidential candidate will be chosen ahead of the 2019 general election.
The party’s choice will compete against President Muhammadu Buhari for the presidency.
Some eminent politicians jostling for the ticket include: former President Atiku Abubakar; Senate President Bukola Saraki; former Senate President David Mark; Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal; former PDP Caretaker Chairman, Sen. Ahmed Makarfi and Gombe State Governor, Ibrahim Dankwambo.

Even if my preferred candidate fails to emerge, I would still work for whoever wins PDP Presidential Ticket. All I want is a free and fair process. We all have one common goal-To remove the LIFELESS in our system. #PDPConventionPHC #PDPConvention #PDPPrimaries2018

They didn't protest for Leah Shaibu's return, against NASS 2 months 'closure, nor the Killing of a GENERAL in Jos,or to ensure JUSTICE for OFFA 32 (including a PREGNANT woman). They protested to protect 1 of their OWN,& their INTEREST.ThinkNaijaToSaveNaija pic.twitter.com/0P2zf65Gev

I'm happy to read that PDP presidential aspirants were tear-gassed during a protest.
No hard feelings but this should motivate them to work together and #kickBuhariOut irrespective of tomorrow's outcome or have their arses continually teargassed if Buhari wins. #PDPConventionPHC

My observations!
Between 1999 and 2015, Nigerians named their kids after the president with goods luck the most. Have you seen anyone name kids after Buhari? #PDPPrimaries pic.twitter.com/EsKoPDfEtJ

It is becoming glaring that @GovWike has sold the @OfficialPDPNig to @MBuhari . That's why he's insisting on fielding a weakling, @AWTambuwal , who cannot secure the votes of Kebbi and Zamfara, let alone the entire NW and Nigeria at large. #PDPConventionPHC

Am sure if Saraki wins the PDP ticket APC camp will be in disarray…They fear Saraki more than any of the aspirants😂 #PDPConventionPHC

#Atiku is the only candidate that can shake APC and beat Buhari in 2019. Every other Pdp candidate is a walk over for Buhari. Atiku is the only candidate that can get over 25% in every state in Nigeria. Other Pdp candidates would struggle in unknown regions. #PDPConventionPHC

How did Tambuwal become a front runner to be the Pdp Presidential candidate at the #PDPConventionPHC? He doesn't bring anything exciting to the table? He looks dull, lacklustre and boring. Nothing intimidating about him to shake Buhari or known ideology. Pdp better grow brain o pic.twitter.com/Mbfyq1Tsp4

Atiku, I believe is the oldest among the PDP candidates and the oldest in the race for Presidency.
His age has not affected his reasoning and understanding of the issues.
The rest are young (less than 60) and can still be future candidates for President. #PDPConventionPHC

Today's PDP convention will be a critical juncture for Nigeria as a country. The outcome of today's convention will either lead to the liberation of Nigeria from the shackles of the last 3 years,or it'd condemn Nigeria to another 4 years of despotism and decay. #PDPConventionPHC pic.twitter.com/fP0yypcj9I

I once said we should kiss PDP goodbye if Tambuwal emerges the presidential candidate but I hereby take back that statement. If Tambuwal emerges candidate I'll personally support him. This thing is about one common enemy and we must unite to kick him out.#PDPConventionPHC
— Mister Jonah (@realNCNC) October 5, 2018
Anyone who thinks Tambuwal is the only Wike-friendly aspirant in the PDP race is grossly mistaken.
Nobody knows who will emerge as PDP flagbearer but many of us know who and who will not emerge, no matter how popular on the outside they might be.
All eyes on #PDPConventionPHC

The only person among the PDP presidential aspirants that can share North votes with Buhari is Kwankwaso. No one else can do that. @OfficialPDPNig should do their maths correctly and they may stand a chance. Anybody else will be a walkover for Buhari. #PDPConventionPHC

I like how the PDP presidential primary is panning out. Even those who claim mastering of Nigerian politics are left wondering who will win. Keep your permutations coming. There’s definitely going to be a surprise. #PDPConventionPHC #PDPConvention
