Nigerians have taken to social media to praise Super Eagles’s captain, John Mikel Obi for having the mind to represent Nigeria against Argentina on June 26 despite being informed four hours before that his father had been kidnapped.
Mikel told KweseESPN after his father’s release that the kidnappers called him before Nigeria’s make-or-mar game against the Albiceleste and demanded N10 million to release Pa Michael Obi.
He said they warned him against alerting the authorities or his dad would be shot “instantly”.
But Nigerians have taken to social media to praise Mikel for the matured manner he handled the news of his father’s kidnap.
