Nigerians have taken to social media to express diverse opinions on today’s nationwide broadcast by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Buhari described democracy as the best but not the easiest way to choose the nation’s leaders, urging Nigerians to go out to vote and defend the nation’s democracy on Saturday.
“You will be able to vote in an atmosphere of openness and peace, devoid of fear from threat or intimidation.
“International and domestic monitors and observers are assured of their safety and freedom of movement needed to perform their important functions,” the president said.
Buhari further urged every Nigerian to cast doubt aside and support the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which has expressed its readiness to conduct the rescheduled general election on February 23 and March 9.

If buhari likes let him do a press conference 1million times, let him even do the press conference tomorrow, that's his business; @inecnigeria tell him not to campaign oo, campaigns have ended, else he risk being disqualified. #NigeriaDecides2019

If Buhari made these broadcasts when the country needed him to, he would not need to make two in a week to win elections.
