Nigerians have taken to social media to react to President Muhammadu Buhari receiving his attestation certificate and confirmation of school certificate result from the West African Examination Council (WAEC).
The president made this known in a tweet via his verified personal handle on Friday afternoon.
See tweet:
Today I received the attestation and confirmation of my 1961 West African School Certificate (WASC) Examination result, from the Registrar of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC). It was also an opportunity for me to thank WAEC for upholding its integrity over the years. pic.twitter.com/coJpMFZ0Kr

Buhari’s WAEC cerificate has been a subject of controversy, with many opposition figures saying he was ineligible to contest for the presidency since he could not produce it.
The president had claimed in a sworn affidavit presented to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that his credentials were with the military.
Nigerians however took to social media to react after the WAEC credentials were presented to the president.

So WAEC now gives out honorary certificates?
Because I'm not understanding
— Tunji Andrews (@TunjiAndrews) November 2, 2018
Not the original certificate, as WAEC only issues that once. This is an Attestation of Result. A duplicate copy of sorts.
Now we can move on to more important matters, like #16vs4, after so much ado about nothing. https://t.co/nx2AoTAvTf

I congratulate President Muhammadu Buhari on his "attestation" certificate. Now can we see the real one?

WAEC finally presented a certificate to Buhari. This is the bait we've been waiting for them to take all this while.
First of all, how come the result Buhari showed us from his principal had 8 subjects, and this WASSCE certificate now has only 6? They edited off the F9s? pic.twitter.com/wG4rJ4S7X8

Someone, somewhere, somehow is hiding something. The letter Buhari’s principal wrote to Army recruiters in 1962 clearly stated that he took Maths & would pass it.The results released by his School in 2015 showed he failed Maths and Woodwork. How come this WAEC result lacks both? pic.twitter.com/vO2skEcdjO

In 2015, the WASCE result issued by the Govt College, Katsina indicates that Buhari had F9 in Mathematics. In 2018, the result issued by the so called WAEC, did not even list Mathematics as one of the subjects Buhari sat for. Who is fooling who?🙄

So if I want to get a new WAEC certificate, I can send the body a recent passport photograph? I never liked the one on my original sef.
— Chidi Okereke (@Chydee) November 2, 2018
Lmaooooo. Buhari before our very eyes went on to forge a WAEC certificate.
This country is banter.

What made it possible for PMB to get attestation WAEC certificate, and what does that mean? Why did he not get it 2015? My issue here is not the certificate as it has never been an issue for me, but the manner in which institutions are used for personal benefits. Shame.

In 2015, The WAEC Certificate, Mr Fraudster Showed Us Had Mathematics As One Of The Subjects He Wrote
In 2018, Mathematics Is Nowhere To Be Found In His Recent WAEC Certificate
