A former minister of information in Nigeria, Chief Alex Akinyele, has gone to the great beyond. The Herald gathered that Akinyele passed away on Thursday night, November 14, in Ondo state.
The death of the ex-minister was confirmed in a statement by one of his sons, Constantine Akinfolarin Akinyele.

Akinyele was born to Pa Akinyele a soldier and an ex-serviceman, attended all Saints Primary School Ondo, Gboluji Grammar School Ile-Oluji and St. Andrew’s College Oyo.
Meanwhile, The Herald reported that Professor Tamunoemi Sokari David-West had died. David-West dies at age 83. He was born in Buguma, Kalabari, in what is now Rivers State. The cause of his death has not been disclosed at the time of filling this report.
A consultant virologist, David-West was also a social critic and author. He served as Commissioner of Education in the old Rivers State, and was Minister of Petroleum and Energy under the General Muhammadu Buhari military regime. He also served as Minister of Mines, Power and Steel under Gen. Ibrahim Babangida regime.
