How convenient! – Nigerians blast Tunde Fashola for finding mystery camera at scene of Lekki shooting

4 Min Read

Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola has suffered a heavy backlash after he discovered a mystery security camera at the scene of Lekki shooting.

It would be recalled Nigerians accused Lekki Concession Company (LCC) of uninstalling security cameras prior the shootings.

A man wearing a neon safety vest that carried LCC logo was photographed at Lekki toll gate around 4pm on the fateful evening.

However, Lagos state Governor, Jide Sanwo-olu refuted the claims saying the CCTV cameras remained intact at the toll gate.

In a video making rounds on social media, Fashola on Sunday, was inspecting the crime scene when he discovered a mysterious camera at the toll gate.

It came as a shock to Nigerians that Minister Fashola could find a hidden camera at the crime scene which has been visited  by both security operatives and hoodlums in the past five days.

The discovery has earned the Minister a heavy backlash as citizens accused him of planting evidence before inspecting the crime scene.

@deejayfaremi

All that looting, destruction, and cleaning, but there was this lucky camera sitting there. Fashola discovering the most obscure things like Mungo Park discoverd River Niger.

@alrhemist

Fashola conveniently finds a Camera at the Toll Gate after LAWMA already cleaned the whole Crime scene.

It’s an insult on the intelligence of Naija people. Lol.

#EndSARS

@iceprincezamani

Somebody pls tell me the Minister, Fashola and his guys running into a random camcorder at Lekki toll gate yesterday was a joke !!! Pls I’m begging anyone… Just say it’s a joke, Thot lawma just cleaned the whole place up and Jide already did a tour !?

😩🤦🏾‍♂️😩

@UncleMohamz

That Fashola video just shows that these people don’t even do much thinking when they want to lie. They just drop something, all the best to anyone who has a problem with it. 🤦🏿‍♂️🤦🏿‍♂️

what a country. How will people abroad take us serious when our leaders act in this manner?

@NeduNaija

The Nigerian state is totally ridiculous in its modus operandi.

Fashola finished making a comment that resonated with me, and then stepped out to go discover hidden camera at the scene of major crime.

The confidence these people have in our presumed stupidity baffles me.

@TheImoh

The camera Fashola found is going to contain footage of the army handing out roses to armed protesters with Heal the World playing in the background

@eniturn

Fashola can find a camera from nowhere but can’t find stable power supply.

O God of creation, direct our noble cause.

@Engr_Series

LASG team were at Lekki toll to check the extent of damage, Arise TV & other reporters were at there as early as the morning after the #EndSARS massacre, LAWMA cleaned it up…

Somehow, it’s Fashola (the investigator) who saw a strategically positioned camera 6 days after.
😂😂😂

@Engr_Series

Even some guys were captured packing the aluminium remains. These people must think we don’t have sense, Cos how can you pull such mediocre stunt?

@Tom_myk

Lawma already cleaned up the whole place

Sanwo Olu already inspected the place but CIA agent Fashola just came from Abuja to unravel the mistery🤡

These guys no rate us one bit!

@Wande_SHO

A crowd of protesters
Became chaotic after shootout
Soldiers packed bullet casings
Soldiers packed dead bodies
LAWMA cleaned up
Evidences are removed
The camera is not affixed
But somehow, 5 days after
The camera is undamaged waiting for Fashola

I weep for this country
