A student, Sarah Imoleaya who is a student of Bayero University Kano has committed suicide over her poor academic performance.
It was reported that Sarah ingested sniper, a local insecticide after approaching her university’s faculty office to resolve her academic woes only to be told that there was nothing to be done.
She was a student of the Department of Library Science, Faculty of Education. She hailed from Edo State.
She also left a suicide note saying, “I will not apply for course suspension. My academics is all I live for (sic). If I can’t get it right, f**k existence.”
The spokesperson for the Kano State Police Command, Mr. Musa Maria confirmed the incident stating that it happened on Thursday 19th of May. He also said the case had been transferred to the homicide division.
