Man Treks from Zaria to Abuja in Support of Atiku

It’s official! Atiku Abubakar will be the man to go toe-to-toe against President Buhari in next year’s election.

Atiku won with 1,532 votes beating out, Bukola Saraki , 317 votes ; Jonah Jang, 19 votes ; Datti Ahmed , 5 votes ; David Mark , 35 votes ; Tanimu Turaki , 65 votes ; Sule Lamido , 96 votes ; Attahiru Bafarawa , 48 votes ; Ibrahim Dankwambo , 111 votes ; Ahmed Makarfi , 74 votes and Rabiu Kwankwaso, 158 votes .

Nigerians have had mixed feelings about the win and they took to Twitter to talk about it.

There were the congratulatory messages with Bukola Saraki saying: “We always knew from Day 1 that only one candidate would emerge. On behalf of all the aspirants, I want to assure Alhaji Abubakar that we will work with you to ensure that come 2019, you emerge as Nigeria’s next President.

Some Nigerians were optimistic about the win, with Cindymonel saying: “I’m not backing Atiku because he is a PDP member I”m going to vote for him because with Atiku, there”ll be a sense of equality among us and there”ll be youth empowerment”

Oluniyi Gates said: “So it has come down to Buhari and Atiku. For me the choice is simple. A lifeless president who plunged the economy into recession, hired dead people, used our institutions to fight his own personal battles, or a former VP whose government settled BOT debts and stabilzed fuel px”

Vladmir Otets said: “Atiku is a successful businessman. One of the highest employers in Nigeria. A good student of political history. Worked with great politicians across the country. He’s got business associates from nooks and crannies of the country. Married to a Yoruba woman. He’s the man.”

Others weren’t so optimistic as a Twitter user called Step Away said: “I don’t like Atiku but fuck it LET US CHANGE THE CHANGE   ”
