Popular Nigerian singer Tems, whose real name is Temilade Openiyi, shared some surprising insights about her love life in a recent interview on Flow With Korty. The 28-year-old revealed that despite her soulful music, she has never actually experienced love itself.
Tems went on to explain her unique perspective on love. She believes it’s a conscious choice, not a blind emotion.”Loving someone for me is more of ‘I see you and I still want to be in you life,'” she said. She emphasized the importance of seeing a person clearly, flaws and all, before committing.
While she hasn’t experienced love yet, Tems aspires to find it someday. “I would like to be in love, to experience something deep but really real not blind,” she shared. She playfully contrasted infatuation with true love, using a rather colorful metaphor: “Love is when you’ve seen the person, their yansh is open and you’re like ‘I still want it. I still want that.'”
