Award-winning “Woman” singer, Simi, has reacted to a clip of a female preacher’s sermon making rounds on X (formerly known as Twitter), advising single females on how to conduct themselves to “get husbands”, she said her statements are influenced by self hate, according to her word, “self hate inside good advice is still self hate”
The Preacher spoke about different reasons ladies remain single. She said not smiling and carrying natural hair is one of the reasons many ladies haven’t found “The One”
“All of you will be carrying natural hair about, who natural hair help?, better wear your wig and be flipping it, go and spend that money on hair, natural hair is not selling market. When you marry remove your wig because you’ve entered, there is nothing they can do about it, but before you enter don’t be caught unfresh”
The unnamed preacher in her sermon also said that being overly spiritual is also responsible for delayed marriage, as ladies spend all their time attending Church programmes, which scares men off.
“Where are you? Prayer meeting, i’m a Kathryn Kuhlman type of woman, you will wear mantle and be single”_ she said _”say all the prayer meetings I’ve attended this year is okay, when called for meeting tell them, you know you’re in your husband’s house, my Friday night, one guy wants to take me out, please allow me today, let’s see if this is the one. Our sisters are unavailable because they are praying, fasting, every meeting you’re there” She said, stating they wouldn’t find husbands that way.
The singer countered her claim by telling singles that they are enough, not to listen to people telling them they have to be extra to be beautiful
Simi said, “Even when you hide self hate inside ‘good advice’ it’s still self hate. This is why 90% of skin care product in countries full of beautiful dark skins girls/women are ‘whitening creams’ And girls are told that hair that grows on their head is not
special enough. It’s not that you’re not good enough, it’s that they said you’re not good enough m she’s on the Pulpit too. A role model. Lol. Wetin God no send una, na hin una like to dey do”
