Necessity they say is the mother of all inventions, at a time when Nigerians are actively clamouring for better living conditions, a Gas powered pressing iron is a tool we cannot easily dismiss.
Imagine heading out in the morning and you remember that the beautiful gown you plan to wear is rumpled, you then decide to iron the gown then immediately after you plug the iron, whoosh, the light is off.
Not to worry, Ayokunle Adeniran, a graduate of Covenant University has solved that problem.
The Iron Rhino is a gas powered pressing iron that functions exactly like the electric iron. It is auto ignited and it flamelessly burns the natural gas.
“Natural gas was chosen because of its abundance and affordability. Iron Rhino is very clean and will make clothes ironing easier for people,” Adeniran says.
Five days ago, he launched a Go Fund Me campaign to raise money for making moulds that will be used to mass produce Iron Rhino.
Adeniran who is currently a Mechanical design engineer in United States is experienced in design of elevator components but he recently moved towards consumer products.
The first prototype of the Iron Rhino took about two years to complete and the patent processing wasn’t complete until four years later.
Six years of hard work produced a gas-powered iron that is very user friendly because the design was built around user ergonomics. The iron also functions at most habitable environmental conditions making it very reliable.
With mass production, the Iron Rhino will be available to every Nigerian at affordable retail prices and the rumpled clothes problem will be forever solved.
