Data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has shown that the staff strength in the banking sector increased by 6,924 in the third quarter of the year from 75,607 to 82,531, the first time this year.
The Q3 banking sector data released by the bureau showed improvement on the first quarter figures of 77,096, and second quarter figures of 75,607.
A breakdown of the data showed that the number of executive staff increased from 161 to 197 while senior staff increased from 19,826 people to 20,420 people. The number of junior staff increased from 33,783 in the second quarter to 35,191 in the third quarter. Contract staff in the sector increased from 21,837 people to 26,723 people.
