The Nigerian Army who yesterday stormed community in search of members of the militant group Niger Delta Avengers (NDA), have paraded 10 suspects who they believe have links to the group.
The Commander, 4 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Benin City, Brigadier General Farouk Yahaya explained how they were captured and confirmed that the army suspected the individuals as they had recovered guns, ammunition and other things from them.
He also dismissed the rumours that the search had been carried out recklessly and illegally as he stated that the search and arrests were conducted professionally and in line with the code of conduct and rules of engagement of the Nigerian Army.
The NDA have been responsible for a spate of pipeline bombings and vandalisation in the region recently and this has affected the Nigerian economy adversely.
The Army has vowed to continue to work hard with the aim of ending the menace.
