Super Eagles star, Victor Moses has described his penalty in Friday night’s 2018 World Cup tune-up game against Poland as deserved.
Moses had tumbled after what appeared to be a challenge in the box from VfB Stuttgart defender Marcin Kaminski and referee Michael Oliver pointed to the penalty spot.
In the ensuing penalty, Moses promptly sent Poland’s shotstopper, Fabianski in the wrong direction for the only goal of the night in the 61st minute.
However, the penalty call had attracted criticism from some quarters, with critics saying Moses dived.
Responding, the Chelsea player said, ”For sure it was a penalty when I was fouled, the referee made the right decision. It was a good win for us.
”Poland has many good players. They attacked especially well after conceding the goal, but we showed more character today.
”We wanted to enjoy the game and simply win. We believe that during the World Cup we will manage to go as far as possible.”
