Jumia Travel on Wednesday announced the launch of the third edition of its annual Nigeria travel awards, scheduled to hold on March 11 at Four Points by Sheraton, Lekki, Lagos.
Omolara Adagunodo, Managing Director, Jumia Travel, said that the aim of the awards would promote the Nigeria Tourism sector and reward top players in the industry while encouraging improved services.
Adagunodo, in the statement, said that the Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Lagos State, Steve Ayorinde, would deliver the keynote address on the topic: “Lagos as a Model for Tourism Growth in Nigeria’’.
Adagunodo said that other top dignitaries to grace the event included: Annette Ibe, the Lagos representative of the Nigeria Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC); Ikechi Ukoh and the Managing Director of Four Points by Sheraton, Folake Ogungbemi.
She disclosed that the 2018 awards would be given in eight categories, ranging from Hotel of the Year, Best Business Hotel, Best Leisure Hotel, Best Local Airline, Best International Airline, Travel Blogger and Travel Reporter of the Year.
According to Adagunodo, online voting for the awards has opened and will close on Wednesday, March 6. (NAN)
