Nigeria ranks high amongst countries British people hate – Survey

2 Min Read

Nigerians aren’t feeling the love from their historical colonial masters as a new survey shows that Nigeria is one of the countries the Brits would like to see the least amount of immigration from.

In a survey conducted by YouGov, Nigeria joins Turkey, Pakistan, and Romania as the countries the UK would be happy to see the back of and would want stricter regulations in place before any immigrant from these countries is let in.

Immigration Nigeria

The statistic above shows Nigeria as the 3rd least most welcome nation to the United Kingdom. The reasons given were diverse but the most were criminal records, low skill set for the workplace and poor English proficiency.

A large number of people were surveyed and it was discovered that younger people felt that the immigration levels in the UK are just right while older people feel it’s way too much.

The company responsible for the survey, YouGov, is an international internet-based market research firm, headquartered in the UK, with operations in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific. They aggregate the opinion of people especially in the UK about issues and event around the world.

So it seems if there was an option to stop countries from getting into the UK, Nigeria will be pretty high on that list.
