A Twitter user, Bunmi Akano, has disclosed how the nation achieved a milestone in the aviation sector by having an all-female crew flight.
According to her, the captain, co-pilot, cabin crew, flight engineer and flight dispatcher were all Nigerian women.
Akano, who took to Instagram, said:
History was made yesterday as we had a flight served by an all female crew. The Captain, Co-pilot, Cabin Crew, Flight Engineer and Flight Dispatcher were all Nigerian women. This is a feat not only for Air Peace and the aviation industry but for the entire country as my investigations with veterans in this industry reveal that this is a first in this sector in Nigeria.
In Nigeria, the aviation industry cannot be described as robust, given the high capital it takes to run an Airline and other factors. We have more failed Airlines than those actually functioning. We are trying to change this narrative but we need the support of the government. Given its attendant risks, it seems investors shy away from sinking their money in this venture, but not my boss, who willingly went into this Business for the sole purpose of providing jobs to hundreds of unemployed Nigerians whilst remaining profitable. I help Organisations grow their bottom line by providing expert people solutions and just one encounter with the amiable Chairman/CEO and the visionaire of Air Peace made me excited to join the team. With no form of ethnic or gender bias in our hiring policy, we have employees from all over the world.
Air Peace has continually defied all odds whilst operating in a tough Business terrain with huge operational costs to provide transportation options to its esteemed passengers. We are here to stay!!! I am incredibly proud to be part of this success story. I salute all employees of Air Peace today, male, female, Nigerian, Non-Nigerian. Our diversity has always been our strength. I am proud today as always to be part of this dream. 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌. #career#careerwoman #business #aviation#aviator #girlboss #girlpower#womenweavingabrighterfuture#womenweavingmagic #inspiration
